Exceptionally rare Australian Lobby Card set 11x14. Australian Lobby Cards were made in very few numbers and to find a complete set is unusual.
The Irishman is an Australian 1978 romantic drama film directed and written by Donald Crombie (Director of Caddie). It starred Michael Craig, Robyn Nevin, Simon Burke, Gerard Kennedy and Bryan Brown. The film is based on the 1960 book by Elizabeth O'Conner and was written and directed by Donald Crombie for whom it was "a labour of love". 'The Scotsman' Sean Connery was touted as playing 'The Irishman' in this movie but the producers were not able to contact Connery's agent to send him the script. 'The Irishman' Paddy Doolan ended up being played by Michael Craig who coincidentally is of Scots heritage. The movie was budgeted at $767,000 but went $800,000 over. It was filmed in May through to July in 1977. The Irishman (1978)'s wide release in Australia was on 17 March 1978 which is St Patrick's Day, an Irish festival day associated with Ireland.
