Rarely does a film franchise make it to its eighth installment with mostly the same cast members right throughout.Three mostly and six films at a stretch if they are hugely successful. Not even Star Wars or Lord Of The Rings can claim eight. With Paul Walker's passing you could easily have thought the franchise had ended and nicely so the way Seven did. However as Hollywood demands, if there is a buck to be made why not again.
This time around the star power is bigger with the inclusion of Charlise Theron, Scott Eastwood, Helen Mirren and the return of Jason Statham, Kurt Russell and Luke Evans from previous installments. The viewer thus has their favourite characters back plus some very talented new star power and new 007 style action stunts that keep you on the edge of your seats. Briefly, the storyline deals with Charlise Theron who plays the villian (a very cold one at that) who is intent on world domination by having possession of a set of Nuclear missile codes and a Russian Submarine full of missiles. She is able to lure Dom played by Vin Diesel to the 'Dark' side of getting what is required by blackmailing him which none of his team mates know anything about as they watch him turn against them or so they think.
Yes the storyline is simple and predictable at times, but if you are wanting a two hours of hard core action (disbelief at times) fun humour and fast cars, then this film is for you.
